Warranty Policy

  1. Warranty Period and Coverage
  • All of our products come with a 12-month/unlimited mileage warranty from the date of the purchase. (Proof of the original order/receipt must be provided/present)

What is Covered:

  • Defects in materials and workmanship from the remanufacturing process. This includes issues directly related to the quality of the parts used and the assembly process (e.g., balancing, proper torquing, correct component replacement).
  • Failure of the turbocharger to perform to OEM specifications due to an internal defect.

What is NOT Covered (Common Exclusions):

  • External Factors/Root Cause Failure: This is the most critical exclusion. The warranty will be voided if the turbocharger fails due to:
    • Lack of Lubrication/Oil Starvation: Low oil pressure/level, obstructed oil supply/drain lines, improper oil viscosity, hot shutdowns (engine shut off at high RPM/temp, causing instant oil flow loss and overheating), engine blow-by.
    • Contaminated Oil: Dirty oil, metal shavings, carbon deposits, using non-approved oils.
    • Foreign Object Damage: Debris entering the compressor or turbine housing (e.g., from a damaged air filter, engine fragments).
    • Overspeeding: Engine modifications (e.g., “chipping” or “remapping” for increased power) that push the turbo beyond its design limits.
    • Improper Installation: Failure to follow manufacturer’s instructions and regulations during installation, including:
      • Not priming the turbo with oil before initial startup.
      • Failure to clean or replace oil feed lines.
      • Failure to flush and flow-test the system (especially for transmissions/cooler lines).
      • Damage during installation.

Improper Vehicle Operation/Maintenance:

  • Failure to perform regular oil and filter changes.
  • Running the engine with low oil levels.
  • Ignoring warning lights (e.g., check engine, oil pressure).
  • Using the vehicle for racing or off-road purposes (unless specifically covered).
  • Modifications to the vehicle or engine that affect turbocharger operation (e.g., power output increases unknown to the remanufacturer).
  • Damage from a faulty engine brake or clogged catalytic converter leading to exhaust backpressure.
  • Overheating of the engine.

Unauthorized Alterations/Repairs:

Any attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the turbocharger by unauthorized persons. This includes removal or alteration of “as sold” tags or heat tabs.

  1. Warranty Claim Process and Responsibilities
  • Original Purchaser: Warranty typically applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable if the vehicle is sold.
  • Immediate Notification: The remanufacturer must be notified immediately of any potential warranty issue.
  • Diagnosis and Inspection:
  • The vehicle should be taken to a licensed repair facility for diagnosis.
  • The remanufacturer may require the turbocharger to be returned for internal inspection and analysis to determine the cause of failure. Photos and a detailed report from the installer are often requested.
  • All removed parts related to the claim must be retained and returned.
  • Resolution: If a defect is confirmed, the remanufacturer will typically, at its discretion, either:
  • Replace the defective turbocharger.
  • Repair the defective turbocharger.
  • Any repair or replacement under warranty is usually considered a final resolution, and no new warranty period applies to the replacement/repaired product.
  • Customer Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the vehicle and turbocharger according to published maintenance practices and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Provide service records upon request.
  • Ensure the underlying cause of the original turbocharger failure is resolved before installing the remanufactured unit.
